DISTANT MUSIC TRIUMPHS IN Gr.2 INTERNATIONAL S.
Distant Music (4, b. c. by Distant View out of Musicanti by
Nijinsky II) easily won the Gr.2 Goffs International Stakes at The
Curragh on 7-14 as the 5/4 favorite. The Racing Post states,
“…there was a lot to like about the way he did this…”
Jockey Richard Hughes waited in front and was content to sit
motionless in the straight when Bonnard headed him with his jockey
Mick Kinane riding hard. Hughes waited until Muakaad began his
challenge before pressing the button. Distant Music displayed his
trademark acceleration and quickened away from his two challengers
to win comfortably.
Trainer Barry Hills said, “I don’t think it matters whether he runs
over a mile or 10 furlongs. He will probably go for either the
Sussex or the Juddmonte.” Both are Group 1 races. Distant Music was
bred and is owned by Juddmonte Farms.
