FATEFUL DREAM WINS Gr.3 INGLEWOOD H.
Fateful Dream (98 c. by Distant View out of Fitnah by Fit to
Fight) won the Gr.3 Inglewood Handicap on Saturday April 21st.
Ridden by David Flores, Fateful Dream was last in the five-horse
field until the final turn. Stalking the leaders with two furlongs
remaining, Flores guided Fateful Dream to the rail in early
stretch.
With a clear path, Fateful Dream produced the sort of finishing
speed that is now becoming the hallmark of Distant View’s progeny,
winning by one length. Fateful Dream ran the 1 1/6 mile race on the
turf in 1:41.65. Fateful Dream was bred by Palisades Investments.
He is a ¾ brother to Dreams Gallore (by the Mr. Prospector son
Silver Ghost), winner of the Gr.1 Mother Goose Stakes and second in
the Gr.1 Kentucky Oaks. Fateful Dream was sold at the 1998
Keeneland September Sale to Horse France.
Fateful Dream won two races in France before being sold privately
to Edmund Gann who moved the horse to Bobby Frankel’s barn in
Southern California. Fateful Dream has won three races for Frankel
and Gann and now has earnings of over $160,000.
