Gr.1 MILLIONAIRE APTITUDE TO JUDDMONTE FARMS
Prince Khalid Abdullah’s multiple Gr.1 winner Aptitude has
joined Gr.1 winners Chester House and Distant View at stud at
Juddmonte Farms, Kentucky upon retirement from racing. Aptitude won
the historic $1,000,000 Jockey Club Gold Cup (Gr.1) by 10 ¾
lengths, one of the largest winning margins in the race’s storied
history. Aptitude’s victory in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (Gr.1) was
awarded a Beyer Speed Figure of 123, the highest Beyer of any horse
in training in 2001. Previous winners of this race include Round
Table, Key to the Mint, and Seattle Slew. The Jockey Club Gold Cup
was his third straight stakes victory following his win in the Gr.1
Hollywood Gold Cup and his 4-length victory in the Gr.2 Saratoga
Breeders’ Cup Handicap.
“Everything about this horse says class,” said his trainer Bobby
Frankel.
Second to Fusaichi Pegasus in the Kentucky Derby in 2000,
Aptitude’s classic abilities are clear.
A winner of nearly $2,000,000, Aptitude is by Horse of the Year
A.P. Indy out of Dokki by Northern Dancer, a half-sister to classic
winner Coastal.
He will stand for $25,000.
