JUDDMONTE WINS 2 ECLIPSE AWARDS
Juddmonte Farms was named Breeder of the Year. In 2001,
Juddmonte had 11 North American stakes winners, ten of whom were
victorious in graded company. Among them were the multiple Grade 1
winners Aptitude, Flute, and Senure. Juddmonte’s first farm was
established in England in 1981. We have three stallions, Aptitude
(first season in 2002), Chester House (first foals of 2002), and
Distant View (responsible for 2001 Gr.1 Prix d’Ispahan victor
Observatory).
Banks Hill, a three-year-old filly by Danehill out of Hasili,
won Champion Turf Female. In May of 2001, Banks Hill finished a
strong second in the French 1,000 Guineas. She won the Gr.1
Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot and finished second in two open
Gr.1 races in France before coming to the United States and
destroying the field in the Gr.1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf,
winning easily by 5 ½ lengths (the largest winning margin of the
2001 Breeders’ Cup).
