DISTANT WAY WINS LAST STAKES IN 2003

Distant Way, a son of Distant View, won the final European Stakes race of 2003, the Listed Criterium di Pisa Blandford Services. This two-year-old colt ran out an easy two and a quarter length winner. He was recording his first Stakes success and his third victory of the season. The colt broke his maiden in July in Naples.

Distant Way is a son of Grey Way (by Cozzene), the highweight on the Italian Free Handicap at 9 ½ to 11 furlongs at three years of age. He won the Gr.2 Premio Lydia Tesio in Italy and placed in the Gr.2 La Prevoyante Handicap in the U.S.

Distant Way was bred in Kentucky by Grundy Bloodstock, he is owned by Allevamento La Nuova Sbarra and is trained by Lorenzo Brogi.

Distant View has 14 two-year-old winners in 2003. They include the stakes horses Distant Way, Fantastic View (Gr.3 Autumn Stakes and second in the Gr.1 Racing Post), Ithaca (2nd in the Gr.3 Prestige Stakes), Tentative (3rd in the Firth of Clyde Stakes (LR)) and Topango (La Senorita Stakes (LR)).
