1st THREE VALLEYS - (01 c Diesis ex Skiable by
Niniski)
THREE VALLEYS put a stunning performance to win
by 8 lengths in a 2yo course record time. Bred and raced by
Juddmonte, THREE VALLEYS is out of a half sister
to the dam of DANSILI.

3.05 King’s Stand Stakes Gr2 (5f)
3rd OASIS DREAM - (00 c Green Desert ex Hope by
Dancing Brave)
OASIS DREAM, Champion 2yo of 2002, put up an
amazing performance, beaten only 2.5 lengths, to take third place
in only his first start of 2003. Bred and raced by Juddmonte,
OASIS DREAM is half-brother to 2002 Poule d’Essai
des Pouliche Gr.1 winner ZENDA
(by Zamindar) and his dam is a full-sister to the dam of
BEAT HOLLOW.
3.45 St James’s Palace Stakes Gr1
(8f)
1st ZAFEEN - (00 c Zafonic ex Shy Lady by
Kaldoun)
A much deserved Gr.1 victory for ZAFEEN who
finished 2nd in the Newmarket 2000 Guineas Gr.1
and in May and the Greenham Stakes Gr.3 in
April. ZAFEEN was also the winner of the
Mill Reef Stakes Gr.2 (6f) and 2nd in the Prix
Morny Gr.1 (6f) as a 2 year old.
ZAFEEN is a son of ZAFONIC (full brother to
ZAMINDAR).
4.20 Queen Anne Stakes Gr1 (8f)
2nd TILLERMAN - (96 h In The Wings ex Autumn
Tint by Roberto)
TILLERMAN put up another sterling performance
to come from last place to finish second. Bred and raced by
Juddmonte, TILLERMAN has now won 6 races
including the Gr2 Celebration Mile and been
placed 11 times (5 times in group company).
TILLERMAN continued his love affair with
Ascot where he has run 9 times winning once and 6 placing including
second in the last two runnings of the Queen Anne Stakes, a third
in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes in 2002 behind Where Or When and
Hawk Wing and a 4th in the Cork And Orrery Stakes in 2001 beaten 3
lengths.
4.55 Duke of Edinburgh S (12f)
2nd RESEARCHED - (99 g Danehill ex Sought Out by Rainbow
Quest)
Researched went down by only a neck in this very competitive
handicap. Researched is out of the Gr.1
winning RAINBOW QUEST mare Sought Out.
5.30 Balmoral Handicap (5f)
1st DEPORTIVO - (00 c Night Shift ex Valencia
by Kenmare)
DEPORTIVO under top weight showed bags of
speed over the minimum trip and was always in charge, winning by 2
lengths. Bred and raced by Juddmonte, Deportivo won 3 races
(5-6f) at 2 years including Rose Bowl Stakes L. at
Newbury.
DEPORTIVO's second dam PEACE is one of the
Juddmonte foundation mares.
It is also worth noting here that MUCH FASTER
(2001 filly out of Interruption by ZAFONIC) won
the Prix la Fleche (5.5f), L. at Maisons-Laffitte
this afternoon. Interruption (also a granddaughter of PEACE)
was Juddmonte bred and sold for 85,000 gns at the 1999 Tattersalls
December Sales.

2.30 Jersey Stakes Gr3 (7f)
1st MEMBERSHIP – (00 c Belong To Me ex Shamisen
by Diesis)
Membership, a decisive 2.5 lengths winner here, has paid a
fine tribute to the Juddmonte colt TRADE FAIR (00
c ZAFONIC ex Danefair by Danehill) who beat him at
Newmarket last time by a comfortable 2.5 lengths.
TRADE FAIR won over 7 furlongs at 2 years and
was 3rd in the Dewhurst Stakes Gr.1. He was
also winter favourite for the 2000 Guineas before a setback put him
out of contention.
3.45 Prince of Wales’s Stakes Gr1
(10f)
2nd RAKTI – (99 c. Polish Precedent ex Ragera
by RAINBOW QUEST)
RAKTI would have been closer that the 2.5
length margin had he settled better in the early stages and another
blacktype success cannot be far
away. RAKTI has already notched
up Gr.1 wins in the 2002 Italian Derby and
the Premio Presidente della Repubblica over 10f in 2003.

2nd Tycoon – (01 c. Sadler’s Wells ex Fleeting
Glimpse by RAINBOW QUEST)
Tycoon stretched out well on the ground to
finish strongly and when upped in trip should soon be seen in the
winner’s enclosure.

who was 2nd in the Prix Saint Alary Gr.1 and dam
of May Hill Stakes Gr.3 winner HALF

Bred by Glebe Stud, Nevisian
Lad lost the race at the start by being slowly
into his stride but only went down by 2 lengths at finish.
His dam Corndavon is currently in foal to the Juddmonte stallion
OBSERVATORY.

1st SPANISH SUN – (00 f. El Prado ex Shining
Bright by RAINBOW QUEST)
Bred and raced by Juddmonte Farms, SPANISH
SUN missed the Classics due to a setback but bounced back
to take this contest after a 269 day absence from the track.
She belied her inexperience to deny Ocean Silk in a pulsating
finish. SPANISH SUN and the
second, Ocean Silk, may meet again in the Irish Oaks.
Her dam SHINING BRIGHT is a winning half-sister to
DARING MISS (4 wins inc Grand Prix de Chantilly
Gr.2) and APOGEE (2 wins inc Prix
de Royaumont Gr.3; dam of DANCE
ROUTINE – winner of the Prix de Royallieu
Gr.2 and 2nd Prix de Diane

1st SILCA’S GIFT – (01 f. Cadeaux Genereux ex
Odette by Pursuit of Love)
An impressive performance from SILCA’S GIFT who
pushed clear to win by 3 lengths. Her dam Odette has a filly
foal by OBSERVATORY.
4.55 Queen’s Vase Gr.3 (16f)
2nd Singleton – (00 f. Singspiel ex Rive by
Riverman)
Bred and race by Juddmonte Farms,
Singleton ran a remarkable race having only lost
her maiden tag, on only her second career start, some three weeks
before Ascot.
Singleton is half-sister to 3 winners
including the classy 6 to 7 furlong winner BREVITY. From the

A cracking performance to finish just a ½ length behind Choisir
(AUS). Her dam Kangra Valley is in foal to
DANSILI.
4th Zipping – (99 c. ZAFONIC
ex Zelda by Caerleon)
Zipping back in fourth place was
beaten 2 ¾ lengths. Zipping's
career to date has included wins in the Prix Robert Papin
Gr.2 and Prix de Ris-Orangis Gr.3
together with two seconds and a third in Gr.1
company.
5.30 Queen Alexandra Stakes (2m 6f)
1st COVER UP – (97 g. Machiavellian ex Sought Out by
RAINBOW QUEST)
COVER UP took the Queen Alexandra Stakes for the second
year running and in the process broke the course record by 3
seconds.

SIGHTSEEK (99 f DISTANT VIEW
ex Viviana by Nureyev) also added to the Juddmonte spoils for the
week with a Gr.1 victory in the Ogden Phipps
Handicap over 8.5f on dirt at Belmont Park. This was
SIGHTSEEK’s sixth win and her second
Gr.1 victory this year. In
fact, SIGHTSEEK has never been out of the
first two in her 10 career
starts. SIGHTSEEK is half-sister to the
Gr.1 winner TATES CREEK from the
family of CHIEF’S CROWN.
DISTANT VIEW stands at Juddmonte Farms U.S.A.
and his Gr.1 winning son
OBSERVATORY stands at Juddmonte Farms England.
And on Sunday 22nd June - just to finish off the week
ZAFONIC sired the winner of the
Gr.3 Premio Mario Incisa at San Siro.
AYNTHIA (00 f out of Altamura by El Gran Senor)
made all and held on by a head to take this Gr.3
event.
