HOME AND AWAY, A QUALITY WEEKND FOR THE TEAM
Juddmonte was well represented across Europe this weekend
by three of their stallions whose offspring wiped the
board with prestigious Group and Handicap success.
In France on the Saturday of the Arc meeting at Longchamp,
DANSILI's full brother Cacique, the fifth foal
from the high class broodmare Hasili, showed a devastating burst of
speed which left him in charge of the field in the Prix Daniel
Wildenstein Gr.2, 8f. Andre Fabre said 'He could
go for the Breeders' Cup Mile now, although he's laid back, he's
probably a miler like the rest of his family.'
Without Connexion, son of RAINBOW QUEST,
completed a successful raid at San Siro in Italy when taking taking
the Gr.3 Premio Federico Tesio after previous
Listed success in France and numerous placings in Group
contests.
The Cambridgeshire provided the British end of the haul when
Spanish Don, son of ZAFONIC, produced his best at
Newmarket to foil the other 32 runners in this prestigious
Handicap, finishing with a flourish befitting a ten furlong
winner.
Back in France on Arc day itself, Dansili's
talented son Gr.3 winner Early March was just
beaten into second by a short neck in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere
Gr.1 demonstrating his ability to win more good
races. His trainer Criquette Head-Maarek said ' He's a nice horse
who loves to gallop, thats why he went out in front. Early March is
still green. He will improve a lot and will be even better over a
longer distance.'
