FIRST TWO YEAR WINNER OF 2004 FOR DISTANT VIEW
Observer (C, Virgin Stanza by Opening Verse) won
his first start impressively in the Tenterden Maiden Stakes at
Folkestone on April 7th. He is Distant View’s first 2YO winner (and
first starter) in 2004. The Racing Post had this to say about
him:
“In the race he did precious little wrong,
pinging out of the stalls and making all. He edged left when asked
to win his race to allow rival Norcroft up the rail but the pair
quickened away takingly with Observer prevailing by ½ length.
Neither is very big but obviously have ability. It was some 12
lengths clear to the remainder of the field.”
Observer was the 4-7 favorite for trainer David
Loder and was ridden by Frankie Dettori. Observer was bred by Viejo
Pueblo and is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al
Maktoum.
