LEADING THE WAY
Distant Way, a son of Distant View, was a convincing winner of
the Premio Botticelli (L.) at Capannelle. Clearly relishing the
heavy ground, Distant Way quickened well at the two furlong pole,
leaving Group winner Groom Tesse a length and a half behind in
second.
Distant Way has a record of six wins and two places in nine
career starts and is a leading contender for the Derby Italiano at
Capannelle on May 30.
Distant Way is a daughter of Grey Way (by Cozzene), the
highweight on the Italian Free Handicap at 9 ½ to 11 furlongs at
three years of age. She won the Gr.2 Premio Lydia Tesio in Italy
and placed in the Gr.2 La Prevoyante Handicap in the U.S.
Distant Way was bred in Kentucky by Grundy Bloodstock, is owned
by Allevamento La Nuova Sbarra and is trained by Lorenzo
Brogi.
