THE START OF AN EMPIRE

Juddmonte Farms is pleased to announce that their dual Grade One winning mare Heat Haze is to visit Empire Maker. This mating brings together not only two top-class racehorses but also two highly successful Juddmonte families, as Heat Haze and Empire Maker are out the remarkable mares Hasili and Toussaud respectively.

Heat Haze is one of 14 Group/Grade One winning/producing mares that Juddmonte are sending to Empire Maker – the full details of which are listed below:-

1) ALL AT SEA (Riveman – Lost Virtue, by Cloudy Dawn)
Winner of Prix du Moulin (8f) Longchamp Gr1, second in Juddmonte International Stakes (10.5f) York Gr1 and Gold Seal Oaks (12f) Epsom Gr1. Dam of INSINUATE (Swinley Stakes L) and Imroz (third Las Cienagas Handicap Gr3) as well as Akimbo (second Stan James Maiden Stakes, Newbury – his only start to date).

2) CARYA (Northern Dancer – Autumn Glory, by Graustark)
Dam of RYAFAN (Champion Turf Mare in USA in 1997, Champion 3-y-o filly in Europe in 1997,  Matriarch Stakes Gr1, Yellow Ribbon Stakes Gr1, Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Gr1 and Prix Marcel Boussac Gr1. Dam of  PHANTOM WIND) and Epicentre (third in Hollywood Turf Cup Gr1, disqualified from 1st place).

3) DIESE (Diesis – Monroe, by Sir Ivor)
Winner of Prix Corrida (10.5f) Saint-Cloud Gr3. Dam of SENURE (United Nations Handicap Gr1 and Clement L Hirsch Memorial Turf Championship Gr1) and SPEAK IN PASSING (San Simeon Handicap Gr3). She is a half-sister to XAAR (Champion 2-y-o in Europe in 1997, Dewhurst Stakes Gr1).

4) DOKKI (Northern Dancer – Alluvial, by Buckpasser)
Dam of APTITUDE (Jockey Club Gold Cup Gr1 and Hollywood Gold Cup Gr1, second in Kentucky Derby Gr1 and Belmont Stakes Gr1) and SLEEP EASY (Hollywood Oaks Gr1). She is a half-sister to SLEW O’GOLD (Jockey Club Gold Cup Gr1) and COASTAL (Belmont Stakes Gr1).

5) FLUTE (Seattle Slew – Rougeur, by Blushing Groom)
Winner of Kentucky Oaks (9f) Churchill Downs Gr1 and Alabama Stakes (10f) Saratoga Gr1, second in Santa Anita Oaks (8.5f) Santa Anita Gr1 and Beldame Stakes (9f) Belmont Park Gr1. She is out of ROUGEUR (Gaily Gaily Handicap L, second in Orchid Handicap Gr2) who is a half-sister to EVA LUNA (Park Hill Stakes Gr3. Dam of Racing Post Trophy Gr1 and St Leger Gr1 winner BRIAN BORU).

Winner of Beverly D Stakes (9.5f) Arlington Gr1 and Matriarch Stakes (8f) Hollywood Park Gr1. Half-sister to BANKS HILL (Champion 3-y-o filly in  Europe, Champion Grass filly in USA,  Jt top rated older mare in Europe), DANSILI (Prix du Muguet Gr2, second in Poule d’Essai des Poulains Gr1), INTERCONTINENTAL (Prix Amandine L, third 1000 Guineas Gr1).

7) REAMS OF VERSE (Nureyev – Modena, by Roberto)
Winner of Oaks (12f) Epsom Gr1 and Fillies’ Mile (8f) Ascot Gr1. Dam of Ithaca (second in Prestige Stakes Gr3). Half-sister to ELMAAMUL (Eclipse Stakes Gr1).

8) SEVEN SPRINGS (Irish River – La Trinite, by Lyphard)
Winner of Prix Morny (6f) Deauville Gr1, Prix Robert Papin (5.5f) Maisons-Laffitte Gr1. Dam of DISTANT VIEW (Champion 3-y-o colt/miler in Europe, Sussex Stakes Gr1). Half-sister to REGAL STATE (Prix Morny Gr1. Dam of PLEASANTLY PERFECT Breeders’ Cup Classic Gr1).

12) TATES CREEK (Rahy – Viviana, By Nureyev)
