JUDDMONTE WINS TWO ECLIPSE AWARDS
Juddmonte Farms was awarded two Eclipse Awards for the 2003
racing season.
Juddmonte Farms was named Breeder and Owner of the Year. It was
the fourth Eclipse for Juddmonte as breeder and its second for
outstanding owner. It is the fourth operation to win owner and
breeder in the same year since the awards were separated in 1974.
It is also the second year in a row that Juddmonte Farms was
recognized as the leading breeder in both the United States and
England.
Among the horses owned and bred by Juddmonte Farms were Eclipse
Award finalists Empire Maker, winner of the Gr.1 Belmont Stakes and
now a stallion at Juddmonte Farms in Kentucky; Heat Haze, winner of
the Gr.1 Beverly D. Stakes and the Gr.1 Matriarch Stakes; and
Sightseek (by Juddmonte stallion Distant View), winner of four Gr.1
races in 2003, including the Go for Wand and
Beldame.
