OBSERVATORY’S NIDHAAL ON TARGET
Juddmonte Farms’s dual Gr.1 winner Observatory is the latest of
a select band of first season sires with a Stakes winner. His
highly-regarded daughter Nidhaal showed her rivals a clean pair of
heels in the final two furlongs to win the Listed Dick Poole
Fillies’ Stakes at Salisbury yesterday. Nidhaal, homebred by Hamdan
Al Maktoum’s Shadwell Estate Company, was the impressive winner of
a maiden at Newmarket on her debut and was considered an unlucky
runner-up in the Gr.3 Princess Margaret Stakes last time out. The
filly that finished third behind her that day, Nannina, was the
classy winner of the Gr.3 Prestige Stakes last Sunday.
Several second crop yearlings by Observatory are to be offered
around Europe this month, including four at
Doncaster and the SGA sale in Italy, and one at Tattersalls
(Ireland) and Goffs.
