THE CREATION OF AN EMPIRE
Juddmonte farm is pleased to announce the arrival of the first
EMPIRE MAKER
foal, a filly out of Dokki, a notable mare from the Juddmonte broodmare band being a multiple Grade 1 producer.
“
EMPIRE MAKER’s
first foal weighed in at 131 pounds and she’s outstanding … with size,
scope, and tremendous presence, just like
EMPIRE MAKER
,” said Juddmonte Farms Manager Garrett O’Rourke in Lexington, Kentucky.
The newborn filly comes from a star studded family being a half sister to Aptitude another stallion from the Juddmonte Roster, winner of the 2001 Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) and Hollywood Gold Cup Stakes (G1) and runner-up in the 2000 Kentucky Derby (G1) and Belmont Stakes (G1), and to 1995 HollywoodOaks (G1) winner Sleep Easy.
Five-year-old
EMPIRE MAKER
is out of 2002 Broodmare of the Year Toussaud and is a half brother to Grade 1 winners Chester House, Honest Lady, and Chiselling and to Grade 2 winner Decarchy.
EMPIRE MAKER
won the 2003 Belmont Stakes G1), Florida Derby (G1), and Wood Memorial Stakes (G1) and finished second in the Kentucky Derby.
EMPIRE MAKER
stands for $100,000 (live foal).
