DREAM COLT SHINES
John Ferguson purchased the highest-priced lot,
483, at yesterday's third day of the Tattersalls' October
Yearling Sale - Part 1. The 550,000gns session topper, a colt from
the first crop of top sprinter OASIS DREAM (GB), was one of two
yearlings to break the half-million gns barrier yesterday. The
Irish-bred, offered by Kilfrush Stud, was produced by the
stakes-winning Side of Paradise (Ire), a Sadler's Wells half-sister
to champion Last Tycoon (Ire) and three other stakes winners.
Ferguson acquired the colt on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed, with
trainer Charles Egerton the underbidder. 'He's one of the most
athletic horses in the sale and from one of the best families in
the book,' Ferguson commented. 'And Kilfrush Stud has an
outstanding record as a nursery for top horses over the
years.'
