GOSDEN SPRINGS FOR TATTS TOPPER
Newmarket trainer John Gosden topped
yesterday's opening session of the Tattersalls' October Yearling
Sale - Part 2 when paying 250,000gns for lot 906, a filly from the
first-crop Oasis Dream (GB). The daughter of Top Flight Queen (GB)
(Mark of Esteem {Ire), consigned by Salah Fustok's Deerfield Farm,
was purchased on behalf of an unknown client. Gosden saw off
William Muir, professional punter
Patrick Veitch and finally Chris Richardson of Cheveley Park Stud,
who sold Top Flight Queen
as a yearling.
'She was a very racy filly with a good, powerful relaxed
manner--just like her father,'Gosden said. 'The half-brother's a
very nice horse and it's a family that's alive. I'm not sure who
she is for at the moment.' Her three-year-old half-sister Ellazaria
(GB) (Vettori) scored over hurdles at Auteuil in France last week,
while her two-year-old half-brother Big Robert (GB) (Medicean
{GB})--trained by Muir--had also scored since the catalogue's
publication.
