COLE EYES VINTAGE OR RICHMOND STAKES NEXT
Strategic Prince
(DANSILI) has a
choice of engagements at Glorious Goodwood following his victory in
Newmarket's July Stakes.
The Paul Cole-trained colt quickened in great style to beat
Armigerent by a length and three-quarters over 6f and will try for
a second Group 2 success in two weeks' time.
He will go for either the Veuve Clicquot Vintage Stakes over 7f on
August 2 or the 6f Sterling Insurance Richmond Stakes two days
later.
"He's come out of the race in fantastic form and should get further
than six furlongs," said Cole's son and assistant Oliver.
"He goes to Goodwood for either the Richmond or the Vintage Stakes.
He's a nice horse and showed an unbelievable turn of foot at
Newmarket.
"Not many horses can go so fast early on and have a turn of foot at
the end. It wasn't like he was coming from the back. He doesn't
need to do much before Goodwood - he's pretty
straightforward."
