A WINNING WEEKEND FOR DANSILI
SILVER TOUCH 3 b f Dansili - Sanpala
Owner Jaber Abdullah
Trainer Mick Channon
Breeder Kildaragh Stud
Kicking off the weekend with a maiden win at Newbury on
Friday, SILVER TOUCH gave a glimpse of some very impressive things
to come. Highly rated at home by her trainer Mick Channon, Silver
Touch was able to consolidate some of his high expectations for her
as she cruised easily to the line on her debut. She is still
in the 1,000 Guineas, but it seems the French equivalent is the
likely option, as it gives her a bit longer to come out of this
race and her pedigree suggests that she will appreciate some cut in
the ground. She is a decent prospect and can win some nice races
this season.
Mick Channon said about the filly ' It was always our intention to
take her to France and that is still very much the plan. I bought
her at Deauville with her owner and I think she's pretty special,"
said Channon. "The difference between her and Flashy Wings is that
Flashy has done it on the track."
PETER ISLAND 3 b c Dansili - Catania
Owner C R Marks
Trainer John Gallagher
Breeder EARL Eleveage de la Source
Following on from 3
career wins, the tough and consistent performer PETER ISLAND added
another victory to his cv on Friday evening, winning the The
Sportsman Hcp at Kempton on the all weather, from a
seemingly disappointing draw.
His trainer John Gallagher said " That was fantastic and one of
many, I hope. Kempton has been a very lucky track for us and we had
a very good strike rate on the grass here. I don't know where the
money came for this one though, as although we knew he was well we
also thought he had a bad draw."
CANTABRIA 3 br f Dansili - Valencia
Owner Prince Khalid Bin Abdullah
Trainer Michael Stoute
Breeder Juddmonte Farms
Part of the band of Dansili
fillies who have been producing blacktype performances in the early
stages of 2006, CANTABRIA was second in the Listed Radley
St last time out in 2005 and reproduced the same form in the Fred
Darling St Gr.3 at Newbury on Saturday. Responding well to the
demands of Kieron Fallon and racing on the far side she made the
winner pull out all the stops in the closing stages. The Racing
Post commented that she looked more exposed than most, but that she
may well have improved some.
PRICE TAG 3 b f Dansili - Tarrochi
Owner Prince Khalid bin Abdullah
Trainer Pascal Bary
Breeder Juddmonte Farms
Over on the other side of the
Channel, PRICE TAG put in another good performance to take third
place in the Prix de la Grotte Gr.3. She maintained a good
performance against the highly regarded Daltaya and Quiet Royal who
holds an entry in the French 1000 Guineas.
