Grade I winner Mizzen Mast came through with his initial winner when his son, Tropical Light, won at first asking June 24 at Fukushima in Japan.

Bred in Kentucky by James M. Herbener Jr., Tropical Light won at five furlongs in :59.70 for Hiroyoshi Usuda. A half-brother to Japanese millionaire Ekolu Place, he is out of the stakes-placed Secreto mare Tropico Cielo.

He racked up three more stakes scores including the Gr.1 Malibu St in the US where he stands for $15,000 at Khalid Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms near Lexington.
