DANSILI FLAG IS UP AND FLYING
Following on from the successes of HOME AFFAIRS
and PRICE TAG, the Dansili team were out to strike
in force over the bank holiday weekend and provided a series
of international wins that prove they are out to place their sire
on the map.
On Sunday the progresssive RIPPLES MAID notched up another victory
for trainer Jonathon Geake to add to her hat-trick in a decent
Fillies Handicap at Newmarket making her a winner of 4 races from 4
starts. The Racing Post notes that 'She was soon tracking the
leaders and quickened up nicely to lead over the last two furlongs
and won with plenty in hand, she is improving and more can be heard
from her.'
The wins on Monday came from USA, Saint-Cloud and closer to home at
Sandown. In America
GENERAL JUMBO (GB) made it into the winner's circle for the
first time since coming to North America. The dark bay stalked the
pace through early fractions of :23 4/5 and:48 3/5 before making
his move on the turn. The four-year-old colt then took the lead and
continued on gamely to the wire for a half-length victory. General
Jumbo has looked good in each of his two starts since moving into
the barn of Graham Motion and definitely appears to be heading in
the right direction.
The French saw Rail Link put in a good solid performance, winning
the Prix Gouvernant at Saint-Cloud with a good two lengths in hand
while the placed horses trailed in with plenty of
distance in the good to soft ground. This showed a good
improvement from his second start where he finished second to the
well regarded German horse Lauro and proves him to be a
potentially exciting prospect for 2006.
SUMMER CHARM, although unable to bring any
good weather to Sandown yesterday, did brighten the opinions of her
owners and trainer William Jarvis as she run away with the Word Bet
Exchange Handicap under a hands and heels ride from her jockey,
delivering her victory with a last to first run from 100yds
out.
