Donoma emerged as the leading candidate for the Premio Regina Elena
when easily winning Premio Ceprano, a conditions race, on Sunday at
Capannelle. Her jockey Endo Botti sent the BEAT HOLLOW filly into the lead from the
start, and opened up a three lengths advantage round the turn.
Donoma accelerated again approaching the final furlong, to win by
five lengths from the in form Penthouse Serenade (Val Royal).
Donoma’s time was 1.38.5 on ground rated good to soft, and her last
half mile was privately clocked in less than 47 seconds. “She was
more aggressive than usual and I decided to let her run free. She
has improved since last year and this is a promising comeback on
the way to the Premio Regina Elena,” said jockey Endo Botti. Donoma
will probably have another run before the Classic, scheduled for
Sunday, 13th May.
