FRESHMAN SIRE EMPIRE MAKER OFF THE MARK

Taken from the Racing Post

EMPIRE MAKER was represented by his first winner on Monday when Miss Red Delicious, making her second start, won a 5.5f maiden special weight at Colonial Downs by 13.5 lengths.

Bred by Katerich Stables in Kentucky, Miss Red Delicious is the first foal out of Grade 2 winner Miss Mary Apple, by Clever Trick.

Juddmonte homebred EMPIRE MAKER became the first horse to carry Khalid Abdullah’s colours to US Classic success when ending Funny Cide’s Triple Crown bid in the 2003 Belmont Stakes. The son of Unbridled, one of five Graded winners out of the El Gran Senor mare Toussaud, stands at Juddmonte Farms in Kentucky for a fee of $100,000.
