JUDDMONTE STALLIONS' PROGENY FARE WELL AT BARRETTS
At a sale where gross, median, and average were on the rise in a major way, progeny by Juddmonte stallions were highly sought after at the Barretts March 2 year old in training sale.
Hip #167, an EMPIRE MAKER filly out of Storm Away, sold to the Darley contingent for a price of $600,000. Described by consignor Jerry Bailey as a “stone runner”, this filly has everything working in her favor as she heads toward her career as a race horse.
Not to be outdone, MIZZEN MAST sired Hip# 76 and Hip #132 sold for $290,000 and $350,000 respectively. Hip#76, a filly out of Fluttery Dancer, sold to trainer Christopher Paasch while Hip # 132, a colt out of Partyship, sold to John Ferguson Bloodstock bidding on behalf of Darley. With the MIZZEN MAST’s winning left and right, it is no surprise that these individuals were chosen by the discerning eye.
