FURTHER STAKES SUCCESS FOR DANSILI
Taken from the EBN
The Gary Moore-trained Cusoon advertised his claims for next
month’s Gr.3 Winter Derby by winning yesterday’s Listed Winter
Derby Trial over the same course and distance. The five-year-old
took the lead inside the last quarter mile and gamely held on from
the fast-finishing Blue Bajan. The runner-up races with his head
high, despite the presence of a noseband, and may well have got the
verdict if he had lowered it.
Cusoon was winning for the seventh time, and is another Stakes
winner by Juddmonte Farm’s talented young sire DANSILI, who had a terrific 2006. He sired the
Gr.1 Arc and Grand Prix de Paris winner Rail Link, Gr.1 Matriarch
Stakes heroine Price Tag (harshly disqualified after winning the
Poule d’Essai des Pouliches), and the Gr.1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud
winner Passage of Time. His sons Illustrious Blue and Grantley
Adams have both won valuable handicaps at Nad Al Sheba this month,
and his daughter Dont Dili Dali was third in Friday’s Listed
Balanchine Stakes.
DANSILI stands at Banstead Manor
Stud at £30,000.
