DANSILI'S SON CUSOON NAMED HORSE OF THE YEAR
By Paul Eacott
Article taken from the Racing Post
Cusoon (DANSILI) was last
night named All-Weather Horse of the Year in a glittering awards
ceremony at Lingfield - despite finishing only ninth to Gentleman's
Deal in the Winter Derby earlier in the day.
The Gary Moore-trained five-year-old was voted the top performer
of the season by Racing Post readers, with Gentleman's Deal's
victory coming too late to influence the vote, which closed at
midnight on Wednesday.
To be fair to Cusoon, who this winter has twice smashed the 1m2f
course record that had stood for six years, he was beaten only
about two lengths yesterday, in a contest run at an unsuitably slow
pace.
Cusoon attracted more votes than Areyoutalkingtome, Super Frank,
Turn On The Style, Hurricane Spirit and Gentleman's
Deal.
