JIB BRED TOP AND BOTTOM FOR TURF STAKES SUCCESS
Taken from the DRF website
By LAUREN STICH
Jib, who won a 5 1/2-furlong maiden race on the grass July 6, is
a 2-year-old filly by hidden turf sire MIZZEN
MAST, a son of grass champion Cozzene who achieved his
greatest success on dirt. Jib gets a double dose of turf (HT2) from
her dam's sire, Diesis, a classic winner in Europe. Jib's third
dam, Victoriana, is a half-sister to European champion, Xaar, and
her fifth dam is none other than the amazing Best in Show. Both
Rags to Riches and Jazil have Best in Show as their third dam.
While it's a stretch from winning a 5 1/2-furlong maiden race on
grass, Jib is the kind of filly who could be pointed toward the
initial running of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf - or at least
the Miss Grillo Stakes later in the year
