ZAMINDAR AGAIN SPECTACULAR

A fortnight on from the sensational victory of his magical daughter Zarkava in the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, ZAMINDAR was the star of Longchamp yesterday as his son Crossharbour made all in the Gr.2 Prix du Conseil de Paris to win for the fifth time in nine starts. Conqueror of the subsequent Gr.1 Arlington Million marvel Spirit One in June’s Gr.3 La Coupe at the same venue, Crossharbour is a half-brother to Zamindar’s companion at Banstead Manor Stud, the 2006 Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe hero Rail Link.

Give a canny ride by Stephane Pasquier, Crossharbour made all to add to his victory in June’s Gr.3 La Coupe de Longchamp. The bay is by Banstead Manor Stud’s leading juvenile ZAMINDAR, whose 317 foals aged three and over number seven Group winners, including the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe sensation Zarkava, the other Gr.1 Poule d’Essai des Pouliches heroines Darjina and Zenda and the Gr.1 Prix Saint-Alary ace Coquerelle.

Crossharbour is the eighth foal of Docklands. A winning daughter of Theatrical and the French Listed victrix Dockage, Docklands previously produced the Gr.3 La Coupe de Maisons-Laffitte scorer Chelsea Manor (Grand Lodge) and ZAMINDAR’s stud companion RAIL LINK (Dansili), who shared the title of European Champion Three-Year-Old of 2006 with George Washington courtesy of victories in the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris. Docklands is a half-sister to the Gr.3 July Stakes victor Wharf (Storm Bird) and the Listed scorer Mooring. By ZAMINDAR’s full-brother Zafonic, the latter is a full-sister to the dam of the Listed scorer Zafonical Storm (Aljabr), while another of Docklands’ half-sisters produced the Gr.1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud ace Linda’s Lad (Sadler’s Wells).

Dockage’s dam Golden Alibi (Empery) is a three partssister to Dahlia, whose ten victories at the highest level included the Irish Oaks and consecutive editions of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and York International. Dahlia then became one of the finest broodmares of modern times, producing the Gr.1 aces Dahlia’s Dreamer (by Docklands’ sire Theatrical), Rivlia (by Dockage’s sire Riverman), Dahar (Lyphard) and Delegant (Grey Dawn) and the Gr.2 scorers Llandaff (another by Lyphard) and Wajd (Northern Dancer). Docklands’ foal is a full-sister to RAIL LINK.
