JUDDMONTE DRAFT MAKES TOP LOT

An unraced maiden filly from a large Juddmonte Farms’ draft brought a slew of interested viewers to the ring and rewarded them with the day’s biggest price.
Piste Noire’s (Lot 1889) contribution to racing and breeding has been negligible up to now, but as a daughter of Diesis, a full-sister to top-class two-year-old THREE VALLEYS and from the family of Kerali, who foaled Juddmonte’s remarkable mares Hasili and Arrive, it will be a surprise if she does not produce a winner.
Tom Goff clearly thought so, for after watching Seamus Burns, David McGreavy, Tom Ryan, Grant Pritchard-Gordon and Charlie Gordon-Watson make attempts to secure her future, he did so with one bid of 340,000gns.
Goff, who was standing alongside Coolmore Stud representatives Paul Shanahan and M V Magnier, said: “She’s got an outstanding page and is a full-sister to one of the best two-year-olds I’ve seen. His Coventry Stakes win [by eight lengths] was breathtaking. His sister would be an enormous asset to any breeding establishment.”
