ISANOUS OPENS 2009 ACCOUNT FOR ZAMINDAR
Article taken from EBN
ZAMINDAR, whose unbeaten daughter Zarkava made such an impact last year, got this season off to a flying start when Isanous landed the Listed Prix Miss Satamixa, the first European Stakes race of the year.
The four-year-old filly scored comfortably by a length and a half, and managed to avoid the trouble caused by Testama, who finished third but was demoted to sixth.
Owned by Isabelle Roussel and Benoit Chalmel, and bred by Jean-Francoise Gribomont, Isanous was bought by Michel Roussel for €30,000 at Arqana’s Deauville October Yearling Sale.
She is out of Douceur Creole (Highest Honor), who is a granddaughter of the winner Querida (Habitat), a half sister to the dual Gr.1 winner and sire Chief Singer (Ballad Rock). Other members of this family include the Japanese Champion filly Cesario and the Gr.2 Lancashire Oaks winner Anna Pavlova.
This was Isanous’ first win at Listed level and her fourth victory from twelve starts, which also includes a third in the Listed Prix de Saint-Cyr.
