EMPIRE MAKER'S CROPS CONTINUE TO SHOW DEPTH
EMPIRE MAKER progeny continue to flourish, and this weekend it was a two pronged attack as they showed strongly in two high class 3 year old races.
Stateside it was Imperial Council who impressed when finishing second in the Peter Pan Stakes, Gr.2 at Belmont. This colt, already Graded stakes placed, looks to be a Graded stakes contender for the remainder of the year for conditioner Claude “Shug” McGaughey.
In England, it was July Jasmine, who hit the board coming in second place to fellow Juddmonte homebred Midday (OASIS DREAM) in the Oaks Trial, L. at Lingfield. Only her second start, the Sir Michael Stoute trained filly out of Graded stakes producer Camanoe was able to secure the place, proving her mettle in what is sure to be the first of many black type outings.
