OASIS DREAM HAS A PHENOMENAL WEEK
Article taken from James Underwood's European Racing & Breeding Digest, issue No. 19
Banstead Manor stallion OASIS DREAM last week had a few days that would be the envy of any studmaster in the world. His week began when his juvenile daughter Misheer ran out an impressive winner of the Gp 2 Cherry Hinton.
His son of the same age, Acarno, followed up the next day by taking the Gp 2 July Stakes. And his four-year-old son Main Aim followed up by going close when second in the July Cup. Then on Saturday his four-year-old son Aqlaam, last year’s Jersey Stakes winner, won a competitive Gp 2 at Ascot. The same day, in the States, his Hascombe-bred daughter Tuscan Evening, who cost only 4,500gn as a yearling and had finished second in the Irish 1,000 Gns last year, won the $150,000-to-the-winner Gr 2 Royal Heroine Mile Stakes at Hollywood Park
The following afternoon, in spite of the ground turning against her, OASIS DREAM'S daughter Midday, who had been beaten only inches by Sariska in the Epsom Oaks, ran third in the Irish Oaks. His son Captain Gerrard was Listed placed at Chester the previous day, too.
