2OTH GROUP WINNER FOR DANSILI
The Return of Harbinger ex Penang Pearl (Bering) was highly anticipated and his manor of victory in the Betfair Gordon Stakes Gr.3 all the more impressive considering the colts layoff since he broke his Maiden at Chester in April. Harbinger, from DANSILI'S 2006 Crop is his sire’s 20th Group winner to date.
Jockey Ryan Moore was very pleased with the winner. He said: "The race was very stop-start - it was a very messy race - but he never really lost his rhythm and he travelled there very sweetly. I was in front soon enough, but he's a very relaxed horse and I was very pleased with him today. He shows a lot of speed so I don't know about the Leger, we'll see what the boss says." (Racing Post)
Trainer Michael Stoute added: "I was highly delighted with the performance because he has had his muscle problems and they take time. He's not an elaborate home worker and that makes it very difficult to get an edge on him. He's lazy at home but he's a lovely horse. I loved the way he travelled, he's got some class. I don't know about the Leger, when you look at his pedigree it doesn't scream Leger horse. We'll go to the Voltigeur next and then see." (Racing Post)
DANSILI'S 2006 crop of 3 year olds also contains Delegator (Efisio) winner of the Craven Stakes Gr.3, 2nd in the 2000 Guineas Gr.1 and 2nd in the St James Palace Stakes Gr.1, Father Time (Sadler’s Wells) winner of the King Edward VII Stakes Gr.2 and the highly promising Strawberrydaiquiri (Travelling Victor) winner of two Listed races over a mile.
