A SUCCESSFUL START TO AUGUST FOR STALLIONS
The stellar season for Juddmonte stallions continued at the weekend when DANSILI, OASIS DREAM and OBSERVATORY were all represented by stakes-winning fillies.
Proviso (by DANSILI) won her third consecutive Grade One race when successfully conceding weight all round in the Diana Stakes at Saratoga. Proviso has now won nearly $1,500,000 in career earnings.
Another top-class filly to register a victory at the highest level was Midday (by OASIS DREAM) who won the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood for the second successive year. She will now be aimed at the Yorkshire Oaks before attempting to retain her Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf crown in the autumn.
OBSERVATORY’s win came courtesy of the two-year-old Helleborine – a full-sister to the Group One winner African Rose. Helleborine maintained her unbeaten record with an impressive display in the Listed Prix Six Perfections at Deauville and looks a filly of immense promise.
