Taken from the TDN
Lost Aptitude (APTITUDE), fourth behind subsequent Gr.1 Dixiana Breeders' Futurity hero Noble’s Promise (Cuvee) in his grassy Ellis bow Sept. 5, earned his diploma at Kentucky Downs Sept. 28. Third behind Cat Park over a yielding course at Keeneland Oct. 24, he returned to the winner’s circle to clear his first allowance condition at Churchill Downs Nov. 8. Making his stakes debut here, Lost Aptitude enjoyed a clear lead through a halfmile in :47.69 and drew off impressively in the stretch to win for fun.
Sheer Beauty (MIZZEN MAST) debuted over the Keeneland all-weather with a third-place finish in a $40,000 maiden claimer, then scored by 8 1/4 lengths in a $100,000 maiden claimer beneath the Twin Spires Nov. 11. Trying grass and two turns for the first time here, she raced in second in the early stages after taking the first turn four wide. She poked her head in front following a half-mile in :47.74 and drew clear in the stretch after several left and right-handers courtesy of Calvin Borel.
