IMPRESSIVE HARBINGER ON SONG IN ORMONDE STAKES

Harbinger (DANSILI) justified 8-13 favouritism with another impressive display in the Ormonde Stakes at Chester on Friday.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained son of DANSILI won the Group 3 Dubai Duty Free Finest Surprise Stakes - registered as the John Porter - on his seasonal reappearance at Newbury last month and followed up in good style here, beating Age Of Aquarius by a length-and-a-half.
Munsef, running in the colours of Chester enthusiast Dr Marwan Koukash, was further back in third.
Winning jockey Ryan Moore said of Harbinger: "He's got a bit of pace, I was very happy with him today. He's only won two Group 3s so far, so we're not getting carried away."
"He likes the track, he won his maiden here last year," Stoute said.
"I've been pleased with his two races here. He looked good at Newbury and looked good here. He's a horse with a great mind as well.
"I think the John Porter showed a mile and a half is really his distance. We thought we would come here then go to the Hardwicke Stakes [at Royal Ascot on June 19]."
