DANSILI'S ZOFFANY TAKES FIRST JUVENILE GR.1

Juddmonte Farms’ DANSILI sired yet another Gr.1 winner when the Aidan O’Brien-trained Zoffany finished fastest of all to take the Curragh feature, the Gr.1 Phoenix Stakes.

Making his move in between Glor Na Mara (Leroidesanimaux) and the favourite Strong Suit (Rahy), he got home by half a length and a short head to take his record to five wins in six starts.

After the race, his trainer commented, “He went to Ascot as a baby and it all happened a little bit too fast for him. He’s getting heavier all of the time and he’s a lot stronger and more mature now. As long as he keeps putting on weight we’ll keep going with him. We’ll take it one step at a time but the National Stakes looks a likely option.”

Zoffany was bred by Epona Bloodstock and was knocked down to John Magnier for 220,000gns at Tattersalls October Sale.
