Sri Putra (OASIS DREAM) gave early notice that he was a colt of substance when winning Sandown's Gr.3 Solario Stakes at two and, after a slow start to his sophomore campaign, returned to the winner's spot as the highweight in a heritage handicap over a mile of Ascot's stiff track in July. After following up in the Gr.2 Prix Guillaume d'Ornano at Deauville in August, the bay came undone on two trips overseas when fifth in Longchamp's Gr.3 Prix du Prince d'Orange in September and seventh in the Gr.1 Premio Roma on his latest start in November.
Racing with only one other in the centre of the track away from the main field, he enjoyed a lead until left alone approaching the final quarter. Sri Putra (OASIS DREAM) outbattled Tranquil Tiger, who came across from the stand's side, in the final 150 yards. ‘Fast ground is key to him, and he has lots of options now, including the Singapore Cup’, said winning trainer Michael Jarvis.
Ideology (OASIS DREAM) looks set to make his mark in Pattern company in 2010 after making an impressive seasonal reappearance in the Prix du Pont Au Change at Longchamp, a race won in 2009 by DANSILI’s Gr.1 winning daughter Proviso.
Ideology has now won three of his six career starts and was third in the Listed Prix Ranelagh in 2009. His dam Kid Gloves, a half-sister to Hasili, has a 3yo OBSERVATORY colt (Handheld) and a 2yo OASIS DREAM filly in training with Andre Fabre.
