ACOMA BACK TO COMPETITION

Multiple graded stakes winner Acoma (EMPIRE MAKER) is slated to make her 2010 debut in the Early Times Mint Julep Handicap (Gr.3) on June 5. The 1 1/16-mile turf race at the Louisville track will be used as a prep race for the Beverly D. Stakes (Gr.1) on August 21 at Arlington Park.

“We are looking forward to getting her started back,” said trainer David Carroll, who conditions the five-year-old mare for Helen Alexander and Helen Groves. “The Beverly D. is our big goal for the summer.”

A six-time graded stakes winner, Acoma won the Mint Julep Handicap last year among three wins from six starts.
