GERMAN 2,000 GUINEAS WINNER FOR OASIS DREAM

Exciting young Juddmonte sire OASIS DREAM added a new Group winner and first Classic scorer to his already glittering progeny record when Frozen Power scrambled home in Monday's Group 2 Mehl Mülhens-Rennen - the German counterpart to the 2,000 Guineas - at Cologne.
Frozen Power is trained in Newmarket by Mahmood Al Zarooni for Godolphin. He won the Listed Prix de la Huderie at two and found only Musir too good in the UAE 2,000 Guineas Trial and UAE 2,000 Guineas, before finishing fifth behind the same rival in the UAE Derby.
Rathbarry Stud-bred Frozen Power may be the first Classic winner for his sire, but he is the second for his dam, the Royal Academy mare Musical Treat, as he is a half-brother to Newmarket and Irish 1,000 Guineas heroine Finsceal Beo.
Frozen Power was the joint-third most expensive yearling in Book 1 of the 2008 Tattersalls October yearling sale, selling to John Ferguson on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed for 500,000gns.
OASIS DREAM stands at Banstead Manor Stud for a fee of £65,000. He was represented by his fifth Group 1 winner earlier this month, when German-trained Querari landed the Premio Presidente Repubblica at the Capannelle in Rome.
