THE BANDWAGON KEEPS ON ROLLING FOR DANSILI
Article taken from the EBN.
Sussex trainer William Knight celebrated a bumper day at Ascot yesterday, when King Of Dixie (Kingmambo) won the Listed Paradise Stakes and his stable stalwart, the DANSILI horse Illustrious Blue, later completed the double in the Gr.3 Sagaro Stakes.
This was Illustrious Blue’s second Gr.3 success, following his win in the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood last August, and showed he is as good as ever at the age of seven. It also demonstrated that he stays two miles on his first attempt beyond a mile and a half and his trainer is now aiming him at the Gr.2 Yorkshire Cup at York next month.
Held up as usual by regular rider Jim Crowley, he stayed on strongly down the outside to reel in the pace-setting Aajel (Aljabr) in the final furlong and win by half a length, with Electrolyser (Daylami) a further length back in third.
Bred by B J And Mrs Crangle and twice a Tattersalls graduate, he is out of the Efisio mare Gipsy Moth and is a half-sister to the Listed winner and Gr.2 Diadem Stakes third Mullein (OASIS DREAM), from the family of the multiple Group winner and sire Rock City, and the Classic winners and sires Dupont and Pacino.
