DOUBLE STAKES SUCCESS FOR OASIS DREAM ON SATURDAY

Darley’s Tiger Hill and Juddmonte’s OASIS DREAM both sired Gr.3 and Listed winners yesterday.
Main Aim got the first leg of his sire’s double off to a good start, when winning the Gr.3 John of Gaunt Stakes at Haydock Park for the second year running. The five-year old son of OASIS DREAM, who is a half-brother to the Gr.2 Prix Dollar winner Weightless (In The Wings), took the lead two furlongs out and stayed on well to win by three parts of a length. He finished a good second in last year’s Gr.1 July Cup and currently holds an entry in the Gr.1 Golden Jubilee Stakes, though his owner breeder Khalid Abdulla is also likely to be represented by Showcasing.
Field of Dream completed the double for his sire, when winning the Listed King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket. The three-year-old colt, who was the outsider in the race, came with a late challenge to win by half a length. The winner of the Listed Prix Alberto Giubilo last year when trained in Italy, was bred by Grundy Bloodstock and is a half-brother to the Listed winner and Gr.1 2,000 Guineas second Olympian Odyssey (Sadler’s Wells) out of the Gr.1 Prix de la Foret winner Field of Hope (Selkirk).
OASIS DREAM’S fellow Juddmonte sire DANSILI was also successful when his three-year-old daughter Bewitched landed the Listed Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock Park.
The Irish-trained filly travelled to Lancashire in search of firmer ground and, despite the falling rain softening the ground, she came with a powerful run to win by three parts of a length. Bred by Jean-Charles Coude and a €160,000 Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale graduate, she is out of the Gr.3 Prix Prix Penelope winner and Gr.1 Prix de Diane-second Abbatiale (Kaldoun).
