MIDDAY WINS HER THIRD CONSECUTIVE NASSAU STAKES
It was a weekend of success for both old favourites and potential new stars, with OASIS DREAM's daughter Midday leading the way after securing her sixth Group 1 victory and third consecutive win in the Nassau Stakes. Her defeat of Snow Fairy (for the second time) was one of the most impressive victories of Midday’s distinguished career. This was OASIS DREAM’s second success at Glorious Goodwood in 2011, following on from Neebras’s win in the Listed Thoroughbred Stakes.
Famous Name (DANSILI) added yet more blacktype to his already top-class race record when coming second in the Group 1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis - Bayerisches Zuchtrennen at Munich, but potentially the most significant update for DANSILI over the weekend was Fallen For You’s eye-catching winning debut at Newmarket. The John Gosden-trained filly came into the race with a large home reputation and she certainly didn’t disappoint. Fallen For You is entered in the Fillies’ Mile Gr.1 at Newmarket.
Another impressive two-year-old winner over the weekend was Rajastani at Deauville. She is now unbeaten in two starts and looks like another good prospect from ZAMINDAR’s current juvenile crop. Timepiece carried on the sire’s success at Deauville when running a highly-creditable third in the Prix Rothschild Gr.1.
