EMULOUS ADDS TO A GREAT SEASON FOR DANSILI
The triple Group 3 heroine Emulous (DANSILI) made her first start at Group 1 level a winning one with an impressive victory over a classy field in the Matron Stakes Gr.1 at Leopardstown on Saturday.
Settled at the rear of the field, she was still last as the runners turned into the straight but once asked to raise her challenge, she picked up well. She swept into the lead with just under a furlong to run and kept on strongly to the line to see off Together, with the multiple Group 1 winner Misty For Me, both by Galileo, back in third. Emulous is now likely to take her chance in the Sun Chariot Stakes Gr.1 at Newmarket.
Emulous is a full-sister to the Listed Criterium de Vitesse heroine Daring Diva and they are among four winners produced by the Listed Prix Herod-third Aspiring Diva (Distant View).
This rounded off a great day for DANSILI’s progeny, being placed in all of the major Group 1 races on Saturday. Bated Breath was second in the Sprint Cup Gr.1 at Haydock, only being beaten by a nose, whilst the ever consistent Famous Name was third in the Irish Champion Stakes Gr.1 at Leopardstown on the same afternoon.
