FIFTH GROUP 1 WINNER FOR ZAMINDAR

Timepiece (ZAMINDAR) recorded the biggest success of her career when she landed the Falmouth Stakes Gr.1 at Newmarket on Friday.
Timepiece raced handily in the early stages tracking Masaya in second before quickening sharply under Tom Queally and storming to the front to win relatively easily by a length and a quarter. A Listed winner over 1m3f at Warwick last time, she stayed on gamely to beat 13-8 favourite Sahpresa and 40-1 outsider First City.
Timepiece, a ZAMINDAR half-sister to Group 1 winner Passage Of Time, was tried at the highest level last term, but finished only eighth in the Investec Oaks. Since then she has won three Listed races.
"She was never going to stay in the Oaks last year and she doesn't want to come too soon, which is why I thought this course would suit her," winning trainer Sir Henry Cecil said. "It's great she's a Group 1 winner now.
Queally said: "They hacked along, it rode like a piece of work and she took care of them. It's brilliant."
