FIRST DEFENCE YEARLINGS SHINE AT KEENELAND
FIRST DEFENCE, who has his first crop of yearlings hitting the sales ring this year, has seen recent success at the Keeneland September Yearling sale.
Selling for $165,000 Major Allie's (a daughter of Graded stakes winner Nervous Baba) first foal, a colt by FIRST DEFENCE, was selected by trainer Kenny McPeek. This is the second FIRST DEFENCE yearling that Mr. McPeek purchased as he was able to buy an individual earlier in the month at the Fasig-Tipton sale at Saratoga. Another six figure purchase by FIRST DEFENCE was secured by Ike and Dawn Thrash for $110,000. The filly, out of Cyber Cat, is a half sister to stakes winner Over the Edge.
