TIMEFORM RELEASES ITS 2010 SEASON RATINGS

Timeform released its year-end ratings for the 2010 European flat season on Monday, and it was no surprise that Harbinger received the top rating of 140, seven pounds more than his nearest competitor.

Harbinger’s 140 equaled the figure given 2009 European Horse of the Year Sea The Stars.

By DANSILI, Harbinger dazzled in July at Ascot with a tour de force in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes Gr.1 in what proved to be the final start of his career. Harbinger rolled to a dominant 11-length romp in that race, which was his fourth victory from as many starts in 2010.

Superstar miler Goldikova, Investec Epsom Derby Gr.1 and Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Gr.1 winner Workforce, and multiple Group 1-winning juvenile Frankel each received a 133 rating.

Brilliant juvenile Frankel’s 133 was the highest rating by a two-yearold since Celtic Swing’s 138 in 1994. The bay Galileo colt won each of his four starts, including the Dubai Dewhurst Stakes (Gr.1) and Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes (Gr.2).
