IN THE LEAGUE OF CHAMPS
The upcoming Tattersalls December Foal Sale will see some of the exciting first crop foals of the multiple Group 1 winner CHAMPS ELYSEES go under the hammer.
Voted Canadian Horse of the Year after three victories at the highest level, and noted too for his athleticism, balance and temperament, CHAMPS ELYSEES is surely one of the most exciting first-crop sires with foals on offer at this year’s sales.
As a son of the mighty Danehill, and a full brother to DANSILI (the leading sire by European stakes winners in 2011) and Cacique (sire of 21% blacktype performers to foals including Group 1 winner Mutual Trust), there’s no denying CHAMPS ELYSEES as all the genes necessary for success as a stallion – a fact not lost on breeders, who sent him 108 mares for his first book, including the dams of Gr.1 winners Powerscourt (from the family of Frankel), Mutual Trust and Scintillo.
CHAMPS ELYSEES was described in his two-year-old season by Teddy Grimthorpe as a "robust, strong, handsome colt, very much in the Danehill mould,” and these qualities have been transferred to the stallion’s “exceptional” first crop, described as being “correct, good walkers with a great outlook.”
Those on offer at Tattersalls include a three-parts brother to Royal Ascot Gr.2 winner Lolly For Dolly (lot 969), a colt out of a half-sister to Gr.1 winner Aqlaam (lot 675) and a colt out of a half-sister to the dam of multiple Gr.1 winner Twice Over (lot 800).
Don’t miss this opportunity to acquire these potential CHAMPS of the future!
