FUTURE CHAMPS?
CHAMPS ELYSEES is very likely the last Group 1 winning son of exceptional sire Danehill to become available to breeders in Britain and Ireland. Outstanding results have been achieved by many of Danehill’s older stallion sons, including DANSILI, who was Champion sire in France in 2006 and has an impressive total of 28 Group/Graded stakes winners from his first seven crops. The wide range of DANSILI’s success suggests that CHAMPS ELYSEES too will be able to sire everything from Group-winning two-year-old to high class middle distance horses.
CHAMPS ELYSEES was described in his two-year-old season by Lord Grimthorpe as a "robust, strong, handsome colt, very much in the Danehill mould" and he has transferred this to his first crop of exceptional foals who have been described as, "great foals with good head and eye, correct and with presence."
We continue to be very excited by his first foals on the ground.
Two eagerly anticipated CHAMPS ELYSEES foals have recently been born – and both could have significant pedigree updates in the coming months. Rainbow Lake, the grandam of Champion two-year-old Frankel, produced an attractive, scopey filly last week. The foal is also a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Powerscourt and to the DANSILI three-year-old Arizona Jewel, who ran a race full of promise when runner up on her only start at two years. Earlier in the month Heart Stopping produced a colt foal by CHAMPS ELYSEES. Heart Stopping’s daughter Lolly For Dolly made an impressive seasonal reappearance at the Curragh when winning the Park Express Stakes Gr.3 and will be aiming to add to her two Group race successes in the coming months.
