THIRD GR.1 WINNER THIS YEAR FOR DANSILI

The Fugue became the third Gr.1 winner for her sire DANSILI this year after winning a high class renewal of the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood on Saturday (4th August).

Unlucky in running on her two previous starts – when third after being badly hampered in the Oaks Gr.1 and second on soft ground in the Ribblesdale Stakes Gr.2 at Royal Ascot – on this occasion there were no such concerns as The Fugue quickened smartly to win in comfortable fashion by a length. The filly, who is trained by John Gosden on behalf of owner/breeder Lord Lloyd-Webber, has also won the Musidora Stakes Gr.3 for connections this year and is likely to be aimed at the Yorkshire Oaks Gr.1 before a trip to the Breeders’ Cup.

The gallant Timepiece (ZAMINDAR) – winner of the Falmouth Stakes Gr.1 last season - led the field for most of the race, quickening well two furlongs from home to finish second, providing a 1-2 in the Nassau Stakes for Juddmonte stallions.

Also at Goodwood, consistent stakes performer Dandino (DANSILI) finished second to Quest For Peace in the Glorious Stakes Gr.3 on Friday (3rd August).

Meanwhile, Waldtraut (OASIS DREAM) stayed on strongly for third in the Preis der Diana Gr.1 at Dusseldorf on Sunday (5th August).
