$200,000 FOR SON OF FIRST DEFENCE

Wednesday, the 19th of September, at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale proved to be explosive for the young sire FIRST DEFENCE.  A striking dark bay/brown colt out of the mare CHANCEISALADY, who was purchased in utero for $2,200 back in November of 2010, was sold for $200,000, providing consignor Equus Farm an amazing return on investment.   The six figure price tag was enough to make this individual second highest in trading on the day.

Only the second crop of yearlings to go through the sales ring for FIRST DEFENCE, his average for this sale was over $65,000, more than five times his $12,500 stud fee when this crop was conceived.
