DANSILI IN DEMAND AT TATTERSALLS BOOK 1
Leading British-based sire DANSILI was in demand on the first day of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book 1 yesterday (9th October). From four yearlings to change hands, DANSILI averaged just short of 300,000 guineas, with a highest price of 550,000 guineas.
Lot 154 was one of the highest priced yearlings to sell on day one. The active bay filly is out of the Sadler’s Wells mare Neartica, a half-sister to the Gr.1 winners Goldikova and Galikova. She was consigned by Newsells Park Stud and purchased by Hugo Lascelles Bloodstock, and becomes the second best-priced yearling filly to sell at auction by DANSILI.
With three Gr.1 winning fillies in 2012, it’s no surprise that daughters of DANSILI look a good investment. Croom House Stud consigned lot 57, a bay filly and the first foal out of Kiyra Wells (Sadler’s Wells), a three-parts sister to Phoenix Stakes Gr.1 winner Damson (herself the dam of Gr.2 winner Requinto - by DANSILI). The filly was bought by Sunderland Holdings Inc for 310,000 guineas.
Lot 6 meanwhile heads to Hong Kong after being purchased by the Hong Kong Jockey Club for 200,000 guineas. The colt is the first foal out of Cheveley Park Stud’s Gr.3 winner and three-time Gr.1 placed Heaven Sent (Pivotal).
OASIS DREAM yearlings were also featuring among the higher priced lots of the day. Newsells Park consigned lot 167, an attractive filly out of On A Soapbox – also dam of Gr.2 winner Soapy Danger – which fetched 260,000 guineas from Waratah Thoroughbreds, whilst the Watership Down Stud consigned lot 34, a half-sister to dual Gr.1 winner Mount Nelson and full-sister to Gr.2 winner Monitor Closely, which sold for 200,000 guineas to Jeremy Noseda.
